St. James CHS Sr. Girls Volleyball Team Wins CWOSSA, Off to OFSAA

The St. James Catholic High School senior girls volleyball team are headed to OFSAA after taking home the CWOSSA Volleyball Championship title this past weekend.

The team of Sienna Good, Mikayla Melehes, Avery Stocco, Maya Parol-Perkins, Taylor Toomey, Allison Larrass and Ashley Aitken, coached by Greg Good, volunteer parent coach, Deanne Melehes, volunteer parent coach and elementary school teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School and Joanna Ciolfi, teacher at St. James Catholic School, went completely undefeated in pool play at CWOSSA, going on to win in five sets against the Simcoe Composites.

Last year St. James battled it out at CWOSSA taking home a fifth-place title. For the four returning athletes and coach Ciolfi, who has been with this group of girls their entire high school career, it is an amazing feat to represent at the highest level of competition in Ontario.

“Heading to OFSAA is extremely exciting, and we are so proud of all the hard work, determination and camaraderie that the team has shown throughout the season,” shared Ciolfi.

The team heads to St. Catherine’s to compete at OFSAA, playing their first game on Monday, March 6.
